Cincinnati Bell and CBTS recently announced the “Live in the Sunlight” campaign for employees. The goal of this campaign is to help end the stigma and fear around mental health, substance abuse, and heart health issues, and to offer resources for employees and their loved ones.
In alignment with the “Live in the Sunlight” campaign, two of the company’s Employee Resource Groups – Building Employee Awareness of Disabilities (BEAD) and Connecting & Building Young Professionals (CBYP) – partnered to prepare and serve meals for 100 residents at Tender Mercies. As a group, the employees cooked and prepared a meal for lunch and then served it to the residents.
Tender Mercies provides housing and supportive services for homeless adults with histories of severe mental illness. The group’s permanent supportive housing model addresses the root causes of homelessness, thereby preventing a return to the streets for our region’s most vulnerable persons.
